Newton Festival-GUERILLA STAGE

After being rejected from newtown fest 2 years in a row, we decided enough was enough and did our own stage in our mates backyard which fronts on to the festival. Had a ripper of a party and a great gig, heres some shots taken by chris D at gig pics.

bondi FM

Headed down to bondi FM the other morning for a little chit-chat and music. Dizz layed down a new acoustic number. Really diggen the vibe they've got goin down there, and the tunes they pump out. Amatuer profesionals

Pat, beaks, neil and kane spent the day spraying new posters for the upcoming onslaught on the east coast and melbourne. will be headin up to newcastle on the 30th of september, then hitten up Port Maquarie on the 1st supporting BOB LOG. Then were finishing on the 2nd in Byron Bay at the great northern. Then headin down to melbourne on the 14th to play the Baha and then the Espy on the 15th. Lock up ya daughter it's gonna get sticky YEOWZAAAA!

Further and further along we go.
With sweaty foreheads, tiny sweat beads rolling down our backs and clammy palms, we've been cranking the nights at Paddy's joint getting mixes done with Fray, for the Sticky record.
It's working well thank you.
He's a good fella and done a stack of good stuff - like the Bridezilla record. See.
Might even be able to dig up a pic of the occasion that doesn't incriminate the band.
We're busting out to play the beach Road on the 18th of this month and then hit the road in early Oct ... but I'll be back before then.

Murderous Nerves Clip + New T-shirts

the Murderous Nerves clip was shot by the band in Paddy's house. The Itching Ape scarred the walls with his image of the guys and we've got this as evidence (there are a couple of other shots up on the facebook page as well). It also features a guest appearance by James Dean and Kane (TFP) and a mad Diz's ladder dance, (plus a couple of Dizza and the ape dance moves but you have to be quick or you'll miss 'em), and ... some naked art.
This is the first Clip for the band and we're already working on getting a couple more up and running. Shouldn't be too long

Sti Fi hit the Brag cover

Well part of Sticky Fingers made a part of this weeks Brag cover in Sydney. Here's the pic, Diz sporting his sti fi shirt.


In aid of the Ox Arts Birthday weekend this coming weekend. the Stickies are also at Manly on fri night and the Mona Vale hotel on Sat night. Should be fine.

the Annandale, Who The Hell

We've got the big Annandale, Tone Defeat gig tonight, tickets are selling ... it'll be a cracker night. A cracker night.
And while we're here, Mel from Who The Hell has just talked up the Sti fi sound a bit on their highly reputable site: who the hell if you get a chance ...stop by and let them know.

What's that Dylan song, it's a slow train coming, something like that anyway. As this lovely pic shows, the merch is taking shape. We've got ideas, and know other people with ideas, so it's just a matter of joinging the two together and we should have some shirts before the Ox Arts gig.

Stu Stu studio recording Willow Tree

We went back into Stu Stu studios the other day and kept knocking together the songs we're working on, Taras and Daz came in and helped and all up we're doing ok. the EP should be out in Oct and it's going to ahve a pretty good version of a couple of tracks we've been working on ... Willow Tree is one, there are a couple of newies on there as well.

Oscar and Simon from the closetakes site are the brains trust for the clip for Inspirational. they come with ideas. We add naked women.

We'll be filming it in a couple of weeks and hopefully have it all together for a bit for a release in October this year ... and their closetakes site, with a stack of live footage that they've been working on, should be up next week.

headline @ melt .. filming

headline at Melt bar tonight!
the Sti fi headline for melt bar is on tonight playing with Underlights and Sound Casino.
We've got a bit of action coming up in the next couple of weeks, filming thepeepshow.tv on July 14th.
And releasing the tracks, starting with Juicy Ones.
We're also heading out to the Gong playing at the Grand on Fri July 29th

bondi fm and bondi festival

Stoked! the Bondi Festival was a cracking gig, a big crowd, a couple of thousand people all up and a good few hundred for our gig - so it was a real good day. We were co-headline and hopefully we'll be able to get some pics up soon, there was a photog there and I'm trying to track 'em down.
We also went into Radio Bondi last tuesday and played 3 acoustic songs, (Juicy Ones and Freaking Out included), did an interview with the pple there and generally hustled. Did anyone record it? I'd like to hear it back.
Was all a bit of fun. Looking forward to the next time. And a shout to Adiv who dj's there as well.
For the next month or so we're writing a bit and putting together a new set while we wait to get back our mixes.

S'y F's went in and tracked for 4 songs at Megaphon on frid, finally think we have a version of Willow Tree, after a couple of attempts, plus a couple of oldies and new one, Headlock - that we first played at the last gig at Ox Arts.

Does Nick (Huggins) exist?
Do you know him?
We've never seen him, so we have to believe our manager.
And he says he does.
He loves what Nick does in the studio, loves it so much that we sent our recordings to him so tha the could wave his fairy dust over them.
but ... we haven't heard back (well, we have but not for for a while).
Mind you, the roughs we've heard are sensational.
We're all stinging to hear 'em.

OxArts pics ... more recording

Back in the studio this week at megaphon to put together a couple of bits and pieces before beaks leaves to have a bit of a break.
All this recording is going to add up to an EP in Oct this year.

The good people at au review put up a couple of Sticky F pics of the last gig at OxArts and I can't get the damn link to work properly so i'm just going to put it in here and if you have time ... then have a look. They're alright.

the Dizza b'day blow-out

Howdy,

It's been a big week :: lets call it the Dizza's bday blow out.
It was Dizza's bday on Monday and the band got amongst it.
Large.
In the end the gig that was the next day ... wasn't.
We also got some new band shots then - apologies to the guys on Tues, we're still trying to work out what happened.
Nick Huggins is doing the mixes for us and he sent thru the first of them as well. They're sounding real good, Juicy Ones espec is coming along great.

We're also heading into our last night of the friday residency at Oxford arts and we'll be filming so that we can begin to put together a couple of clips soon. more on that later.

Howdy, we're just back from megaphon and stu stu studios.
We've re-done Juicy Ones, Inspirational and Murderous Nerves and we're all stoked it's the best recording we've done - maybe that's because it's the first time we've been into a 'proper' studio to record our songs.
We're mailing em straight off to duder - Nick Huggins in Melbourne to mix them and see what he can come up with.
He's supposed to be real good, he's worked with Kid Sam and Whitley. And Sticky Fingers. we'll keep you posted when we get the songs back and put them up here.
